Biscuit
CACFP: 1 biscuit = 1 bread
Makes 20 servings
Ingredients:
Flour, enriched - 1 1/3 cup
Baking Powder - 2 teaspoon
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Vegetable Oil - 1/4 cup
Milk or Buttermilk - 3/4 cup
Cooking Spray
Directions:
1. Combine dry ingredients.
2. Add oil and milk. Stir until a soft dough is formed.
3. Turn onto a floured board and knead 5 times.
4. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.
5. Cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter.
6. Place biscuits on cookie sheet (sprayed with cooking spray) with sides touching.
7. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Note: If serving fewer than 20, refrigerate or freeze unused biscuits to serve at a later date. (Leftovers should be labeled and dated.)
