Biscuit

CACFP: 1 biscuit = 1 bread
Makes 20 servings

Ingredients:

  • Flour, enriched - 1 1/3 cup
  • Baking Powder - 2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable Oil - 1/4 cup
  • Milk or Buttermilk - 3/4 cup
  • Cooking Spray

    Directions:

  • 1. Combine dry ingredients.
  • 2. Add oil and milk. Stir until a soft dough is formed.
  • 3. Turn onto a floured board and knead 5 times.
  • 4. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.
  • 5. Cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter.
  • 6. Place biscuits on cookie sheet (sprayed with cooking spray) with sides touching.
  • 7. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Note: If serving fewer than 20, refrigerate or freeze unused biscuits to serve at a later date. (Leftovers should be labeled and dated.)
